What is Design for Digital Experience?

Digital products and applications play an increasingly greater role in our lives, becoming indispensable tools both at home and at work. Design for Digital Experience aims at improving the quality of human life in a digital world by designing meaningful digital experiences.

What do I learn at NID?

The first semester of the programme is the Foundation Course, which teaches design basics, as well as other inputs specific to the discipline. Other modules in this programme focus on design processes for the development of concepts, prototyping and gathering user feedback. Students are encouraged to build rich content with the proper application of communication strategies, narrative styles, and appropriate media. India has a rich repository of folklore and tradition. Students  research and work to translate this extensive knowledge in easy, digital formats, that are unique to the Indian context and culture. The scope of the programme includes the design for anything digital such as software based user interfaces, websites, web applications, digital product interfaces, gaming experiences and so on.

Where do students from Design for Digital Experience work?

Students go on to work as user Interface designers, researchers, and work in Human Computer Interaction in multinational companies such as SAP, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard.
