Mamta Lall

Mamta Lall graduated in Textile Design from NID in 1992. While still in the NID campus, was a winner for Asian Pattern Design Contest organized by Yokohama Association for International Communications and Exchange (YOKE), Japan

She has seamlessly taken the roles of designer, academician and trainer for more than two decades across India. With a proven performance has demonstrated the ability in developing products and collections for leading Corporate houses like Antique Art Exports Pvt. Ltd. Ambadi Enterprises Ltd., Tata Exports, ITC, TCNS, Hafezia, Linenscapes, Himalaya Overseas to name a few domestic and overseas clients in USA and Europe. In addition to this her design collections for home fashion would often feature at International Fairs like Domotex (Hanover), Heimtextil (Frankfurt), High Point (Greensboro), Ambiente (Frankfurt), Hong Kong Fair, Japan Fair and EVTEKS (Istanbul). Decorative textiles for Design Houses like Ogaan, Anjuman Fashions and Vanderhurd (London bespoke company), has been an additional genre of work.

The social and developments projects form the other spectrum of fulfillment ranging from Craft Council of India, Mahilla Haat, Koshani, Punjab State Social Welfare Advisory Board, Tamil Nadu Tourism Department, U.P. Exports Corporation, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar State Export Corp etc. UNDP’s hand knotted carpet projects under DC( Handicraft),Ministry of Textiles, Delhi, Reshami Kargha Udyog S S Ltd, Azamgarh (U.P) were the prominent among all.

In academic front, Mamta has been a regular visitor at various Design Institutions in Delhi NCR. She had an opportunity to start and head The Department of Design at Sharda University, Greater Noida. While at Sharda, Definition of Handmade Carpets/Rugs featured in International Journal of Research Publication.
