About the Festival events

The five-day-long online festival opened on Tuesday, October 6 2020 with an inaugural speech by NID Director Sri Praveen Nahar, Activity Chairperson Education Sri Tarun Deep Girdher and Festival Director Sri Arun Gupta. The opening day events included,

- Premiere of the first package of Selected very short films from the Global South
- A Musical Performance of Songs (of Kabir and more) by NID Film & Video Alumna Vedi Sinha.

Conversations on Video in the Age of Multi-Platform Storytelling

Guest speakers Ruchi Bakshi Sharma and Akhila Krishnan are both alumni of the National Institute of Design’s Film & Video Department. Embracing new forms of media and wearing multiple hats, Ruchi and Akhila’s work encompasses video and sound installation art, projection design for theatre, VR projects as well as illustration, and optical toy design. In this discussion, moderated by Prachi Mokashi, they navigated through the perceived boundaries of a film graduate’s capabilities and role in an ever-changing media landscape.
