Symposium on Jute Redesigned was organized for Design Sensitization and JDP Dissemination to the Jute Manufacturers and Exporters. The technology of High and Low Cost Jute Bags (60), Woven Lifestyle (38), Dyed/Finished Lifestyle (66), Indigo Lifestyle (12), Printed Lifestyle (20) was released by Dr. Subrata Gupta (IAS), Jute Commissioner, Govt. of India for commercial manufacture by the Jute Industry. Also, Jute Shopping Bags and Woven/Finished Samples for Lifestyle Accessory were showcased. There were about 100 participants from Jute Industry who showed keen interest in deliberations and display of jute products developed by NID at the symposium.
Training Program was organized by NID for Women Self Help Group (WSHP) at Common Facility Centre, Dhaniakhali as well as Deganga from 20th to 23rd Sept. 2016. There were 15 to 20 participants at both the centres and they not only learnt the technique of jute bags making but also produced the same under the guidance of experts from NID.
