Ahsam is an architect and a filmmaker. She graduated in Architecture from College of Engineering, Trivandrum and did her post-graduation in Film & Video Communication from NID, Ahmedabad.

She worked as Assistant director in commercials and feature films and then as a Video editor, production coordinator and filmmaker at StudioNow, AOL. For the past 12 years, she has been with Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Bangalore as a Faculty and the Head of Studies for Undergraduate Skill-based Vocational Program in Digital Filmmaking. She also practises as an independent filmmaker.

Her interests lie in Fiction and documentary filmmaking, Scriptwriting, Direction, Fundamentals of film, Film history, Film Appreciation, Narrative storytelling, Sustainable living, Indian mythology and  Traditional Practices.
