The National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad is hosting PDC Place India as a two-day event consisting of workshops, informal round-tables and poster exhibition for co-located and online discussions to develop a community of participatory design practitioners working in India. PDC Place India emerges from the decentralization of The Participatory Design Conference (PDC); fostering local and international connectedness and conversations. You can find more information about PDC (UK) here
We invite you to participate in the PDC Place India in any / all of the following ways:
1. Participate
You can simply participate in the event at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad on the 1st and 2nd September 2022. You need to register yourself for the event. Please find registration details below.
2. Poster Presentation
We invite Poster submissions from students, academics and practitioners to present practice and research, including, case studies, projects and applications of Participatory Design explore, open-up and reflect on Participatory Design. Selected posters will be presented in-person at India PDC Place, at NID Ahmedabad and virtually at PDC2022, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
The poster should describe your work and include - Title of Project, Year, Names of all the authors, Affiliations, contact emails & 150 word abstract and 3-5 keywords. Please format your posters to A0 sized PDF with 600dpi for printing requirements. Note that at least one author is required to register and (recommended to) attend PDC Place India at Ahmedabad.
We are no longer accepting submissions for the poster as the deadline has passed.
3. Workshops
We invited early career researchers, academicians, practitioners and PhD Candidates to propose short (maximum 90 minutes) workshops to be conducted on campus with the participants of PDC Places India, exploring the theme of Participatory Design (PD) in India. The mode of workshops is combination of hybrid and in person.
We will be updating the final list of workshops soon!
4. Initiatives
We acknowledge our limitations, and are always open for ideas, proposals and thoughts on collaboration; we would like to hear new ideas, processes and concepts you would like to propose to be included and looked at PDC Place India. Please use the below link to register yourself for the event. We will be sending the payment details on email after your registration from pdcplaceindia@nid.edu. Your registration will be confirmed once the payment is made.
The registration fees cover you access to PDC Place India (keynotes, round-table discussions, workshops, and other scheduled events), lunch and tea for two days of the event.
