As part of its academic programme, NID Ahmedabad, along with its extended campuses, is offering the International Open Electives 2025–26, themed “Shilp Sangam: Rooted in Heritage, Shaping the Future,” from January 5 to January 16. A total of 460 students have enrolled in 29 courses, which are conducted across three campuses. The Ahmedabad campus is hosting 14 workshops, Gandhinagar: 8 workshops and Bangalore: 7 workshops bringing together artisans from 15 Indian states and Four countries as faculty. The range of crafts offered spans diverse geographies and engages with materials such as clay, glass beads, thread, jewellery, bamboo, felt, tie and Dye, leather, wood among others. Students will experience, several Painted narrative traditions like Patachitra, Mata ni Pachedi, Kangra painting, textile traditions like felt work, Bandhini, etc, Material cultures of ladakh, majuli assam, chamba, kerala and many more
